Living to the rhythm of the tides: A typical day at Heliophora

Living to the rhythm of the tides: A typical day at Heliophora

Here, watches are useless. Time is not measured in hours, but read on the water and heard in the breath of the wind. At the edge of the Sahara, where the golden dunes meet the ocean, days are dictated by an ancestral rhythm: that of the elements.

Dive into a day where luxury is experienced barefoot, between raw adrenaline and absolute serenity.

08:00 AM - Waking up to the immensity : The sun rises over the Dakhla peninsula, tinting the lagoon with ochre and terracotta hues. From your eco-bungalow, the first act of the day is to throw open the windows to let in the fresh Atlantic air. No screens, no notifications, just the lapping of the water. Barefoot in the sand, you make your way to the panoramic terrace. Facing the horizon, your body stretches during a morning yoga session. The mind clears. The reconnection to yourself begins here.

10:00 AM - The call of the elements : The thermal wind picks up, the surface of the water shivers. The Riders Camp comes alive. This is the time when the tribe gathers on the beach and everyone chooses their craft to express themselves. Kitesurfing enthusiasts launch their kites to carve endless lines on the mirror-like spot. Wing-foil riders seek the sensation of pure flight and lightness, while windsurfing purists slice through the water with power. And when the wind decides to take a break? The lagoon transforms into a glass lake. It is the perfect time to bring out the Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP) for a silent exploration over the crystal-clear waters, or to start the boat for an explosive wakeboarding session. There are no days without riding; there are only elements that adapt to our desires.

01:45 PM - The Locavore Table: Savoring and sharing : After the effort, the gathering. Lunch is served in our glass-enclosed space, sheltered from the wind but still immersed in the beauty of the landscape. Our table celebrates local riches: the grilled catch of the day alongside authentic Moroccan flavors, enhanced by touches of zaatar and accompanied by freshly prepared, colorful salads. But what nourishes the most at this table are the stories. We debrief the morning session, exchange tips between beginners and pros, and laugh. Strangers from the day before become riding partners. Every traveler leaves a touch, an anecdote, a unique energy that permeates the place.

07:00 PM - The Sunset Ritual : The light drops and becomes intensely golden. On the terrace, it is time for the absolute ritual. The famous Sahrawi tea is served according to tradition, while we watch the last riders enjoy the final gusts. This is the magic of the "Slow Life": taking the time to pause, to contemplate, and to forge authentic bonds with free spirits from all over the world.

09:00 PM - Under the starry vault : Night envelops the desert. Far from any light pollution, Dakhla's starry sky offers a breathtaking spectacle of incredible depth. Around the campfire, lulled by the crackling flames and a few improvised musical notes, physical fatigue turns into a profound sense of fulfillment. We recall the day's feats while creating imperishable memories. At Heliophora, no two days are the same, because nature and human encounters write the script. You come here the first time for the perfect wind; you return endlessly for this tribe, these unforgettable moments, and this pure freedom that brings us back to what is essential.
